Academic Eligibility
HS Student Athlete Tips

The Three Approved Ways to Gain SY2025-26 Academic Eligibility

SY 25-26 Guidelines

  1.  In order to be eligible to participate in interscholastic athletics, students must
demonstrate and maintain their academic eligibility during the entire relevant
    athletic season.
  2. In order to participate in interscholastic athletics, a student shall have at least a 2.0
marking period average in the prior marking period, except as otherwise described
below. Students who do not meet this requirement are eligible for an academic
waiver if they have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 for the previous four
    marking periods.
  3. Grades will be evaluated using the first marking period report card to maintain
eligibility in the fall season or begin the winter season.

Academic Probation

Student-athletes declared ineligible may attempt to become eligible through academic probation. This probation period will allow students to practice but not travel or compete with teams. It is imperative to communicate to students and families that students successfully completing academic probation may not be reinstated for competing until after Spring Break.
